The Eight Main Secrets to Success, Part 2

493The Eight Main ‘Secrets to Success’, Part 2

This second article concludes this series and outlines the final four points of ‘Secrets to Success’.

5 Become An Expert In Your Field

The most common factor that all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They always endeavour to improve themselves to be at the top of their profession on a continuing basis and never stop. If someone followed you around all day with a camera at your business, would it be a recording you’d be proud of?  Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field.  This can be achieved by finding out what the “best” in your field are doing, and exceed what they do.

6 Develop a Strategy for Achieving Your Goals

Everyone must develop a strategy to show how they intend to achieve their goals. Trying to achieve your goals without an overall plan or strategy is like travelling 2000 miles to another town without a map. The risk is that as there are so many options to get lost on the way, the final goal may never be achieved. A goal that isn’t written down is merely a wish or fantasy.

7 Giving Up Is Not An Option!

From the outset of developing a business, you must be fully committed to achieving your goal and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP! You must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.  The power of perseverance is an awesome force but remember that nothing is impossible if you persevere long enough. Think of a common ant that must feel incredibly small but travels great distances and can move mountains. Never give up, as giving up is the easy option, but gets you nowhere in the long run.

8 Start NOW!

Successful achievers understand this fact too but they don’t dwell on the “negatives” but focus on the “positives”, to spur them on. They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as they can, for as long as they have.  Yesterday is an I.O.U. – forget it!  That’s a pretty good summation of life, so go out there and cash in on that “today” cheque.

Tomorrow is a promissory note, don’t bank on it!”

There is a good saying:           “Today is a cheque – cash it!

Never forget that the clock is always ticking, and we are all getting older! No-one knows how long they have to accomplish their dreams or aspirations and, if you keep thinking about it without acting, you will be no further forward.
